I keep seeing people use canned air wrong on laptops and it drives me nuts

Hold the can upright and use short bursts, never shake it or turn it upside down. I learned the hard way after spraying liquid propellant all over my old laptop's keyboard (it froze some keys solid for a day). Now I always tilt the laptop so the dust falls out instead of getting pushed deeper into the vents. Taking the back panel off for a direct clean works way better anyway.

Tilting the laptop is smart, but those short bursts can still push dust around inside. You really want to keep the can moving while you spray. Opening it up is still the only sure way to get it all out.
