I was at a public talk in Boulder last month about moon landing doubts.

Yeah that flag thing is a classic. But it's weird, right? Even when you show someone the NASA page about the horizontal rod in the flag, some folks just won't look at it. Makes me wonder if the real problem is that official records feel untrustworthy to them now. Like, if you already think the whole agency is in on it, why would their website change your mind? So maybe the debate isn't about the facts at all.

Had to choose between a $300 drafting table lamp or just getting my office windows cleaned

Right? But is it worth the cost now?

Found a free bookshelf on the curb in Portland and it changed my whole weekend

Oh nice, that's a solid weekend project. I'm always amazed what people throw out. @mitchell.mark, how did you deal with the water stains on that oak table? I tried fixing a dresser with a ring from a plant pot once and it was a real pain to get out.

Tried two different AI tools for summarizing my incident reports

Honestly, I'm still stuck doing most of it manually. Those tools never get the context right for my stuff.

I used to fight with old Cannon plugs for hours before I learned the trick with the dental pick

Three hours? That's a full shift! Come on, you can't tell me you've never spent a whole afternoon on something dumb. Last week I watched a new guy fight a panel screw for 45 minutes because he didn't know about left-handed threads. We all have those days. The point is he learned it, and now he won't waste that time again. Sometimes you just gotta bang your head against the problem to really remember the fix.
