inMy kid's science book said yeast is alive and it blew my mind
That's such a good way to put it, @the_angela. I killed so many of those tiny pets before I got it right lol. Another thing that messed me up was using old yeast from the back of the pantry. Those little guys were already dead before they even hit the water. Now I always check the date on the packet.

inTried using a cheap $15 fish tape from Harbor Freight on a tough attic run, and the tip snapped clean off.
Oh man, that "tip snapped clean off" is so real. I bought one of those for a simple basement job and the whole thing kinked up like a slinky. Had to fight with it for an hour, it was such a waste of time. Learned the hard way that with fish tapes, you really do get what you pay for. I ended up just getting a decent one from the hardware store and it was like night and day. Those cheap ones are only good for like, straight shots with zero turns lol.

inGot a nasty surprise opening a 'dead' laptop from a local coffee shop
Ever find a whole soda inside a keyboard?

inAlways thought the 'check engine' light was a simple sensor thing, but my scanner showed something else
That's actually a P0300 series misfire code, not a P0420. The cat code usually comes after the misfire ruins it lol.

inPSA: My road trip bullet journal stayed plain and it helped a lot
All that time people spend gluing ticket stubs into perfect layouts could be spent actually seeing the sights. Your method proves the trip is the point, not the scrapbook. Fancy journals are for people who like crafting more than driving.
