A client told me my drawer pulls looked like 'sad robot eyebrows' and I can't unsee it now

Lmao that's such a weirdly specific critique but honestly good for them. Sometimes you just need fresh eyes.

Question about paying for a background check service

Oh man, I was totally in the "just meet them and you'll know" camp for years. I thought those checks were a waste of money, like paying for a vibe you could get for free. Then I almost rented my spare room to this super nice guy, but a check showed he had a bunch of unpaid utility bills in collections from his last place. He seemed so put together, but that was a huge red flag I never would have seen. It really changed how I look at it now.

A customer's 1992 Trek 930 with a seized seatpost finally came out after a week of Kroil and a bench vise.

Did you hear about my friend's stuck seat post last month? He tried the dry ice trick after oil failed. He froze the post itself for a good while, then quickly poured hot water around the tube. The different expansion rates did the job. He said it popped loose with way less force than he expected. I was pretty impressed he got it to work on his first try.

Appreciation post: A client's simple comment about my cable work made me rethink everything

We get so caught up in the "right" way to do things that we forget who it's for, don't we? It's like hiding the TV remote in a perfect drawer.

Just saw a public USB charging station at the Denver airport that made me pause

Ever think about the data risk from those kiosks, @perez.thea? A battery pack keeps your info safe too.
