inFront door was faded after just 2 years. One coat of spar urethane fixed it for $12.
Time to see if I can screw up my door worse than my DIY haircut" - man I felt that in my soul 😂 But on a serious note @robinson.matthew the REAL trick nobody talks about is you gotta make SURE the surface is clean before you brush that spar urethane on. Like degrease it with TSP or mineral spirits first because if you skip that step you'll just seal in all the dirt and grime and it'll look worse than faded. I did this on my garage door trim last year and the key is also applying it THIN coats. Two thin coats beats one thick gloppy mess every time. Also spar urethane dries slower so don't panic if it looks milky at first, it'll clear up as it cures. Saved my navy door too and it's STILL looking deep and rich after a whole year of brutal southwest sun.

inMy favorite mug finally bit the dust last week after 12 years of service
My old coffee cup got a crack in it last year and I just turned it into a pen holder on my desk. Doesn't leak on me now and I still get to look at the dumb cartoon moose on it every day. Works way better than tossing it in the trash. Might be worth a try for yours.

inHad a customer tell me I was brushing too hard on their flue tiles
Ha, guess I've been leaving little love scratches on people's chimneys for years without knowing it.

inHit 50 residential installs this month and my back is screaming
Wait, 50 in one month? How is that even humanly possible? I do maybe 15-20 and my knees sound like a bag of potato chips every time I stand up from a basement panel. Three tight crawls sounds like a special kind of torture too. I did a crawl last week where I had to slide sideways past a spiderweb so big I swore I was entering some horror movie. Your elbows must be made of steel or something.

inMy water heater died in the middle of a cold shower last Tuesday
dang that's rough... six years on a Rheem seems pretty short for a water heater. Was it a warranty thing or did they just tell you tough luck? I've heard those pilot light assemblies can be a pain to source parts for too.
