Spent $600 on a home inspection and the guy missed a leaky roof

Had a guy out last month who spent 4 hours poking around, said everything was fine. First rain after we moved in and water is dripping through the living room ceiling. Has anyone else had luck getting money back from a lazy inspector?

That whole situation is rough man. My buddy had a similar thing happen a couple years back with an electrician who said the whole house was wired up fine, then a week later the bathroom light started flickering and humming real loud. Anyways I think a lot of these inspectors just go through the motions and don't really look close at the roof since they don't want to climb around up there. You should check your contract and see if it says anything about a guarantee or re-inspection, some of them will at least come back and look again for free if you push hard enough.
