Thought I'd save $40 on posts by going with a local supplier
I bought 20 line posts from a lumber yard in Billings for my last chain link job. They were $3 cheaper each than my usual place but the steel was way thinner and three of them bent while I was tamping the dirt in. Had to dig those back out and replace them with posts from a real fence supply. Has anyone else had bad luck trying to cut corners on materials like that?

Man, that takes me back to when I tried to save a few bucks on concrete mix for a fence project. I grabbed this off-brand bag from a hardware store instead of the good stuff, and it never set right. Two days later I could still poke a screwdriver halfway into it, had to chip it all out with a sledgehammer. At least your story has a happy ending with the real fence supply posts working out, I ended up spending more on the redo than if I'd just paid up front. Sometimes you just gotta learn the hard way that cheap materials come with hidden costs, you know?
