My brisket philosophy did a 180 after a backyard wildlife incident
I used to swear by no-wrap smoking, but when a raccoon made off with my unwrapped brisket mid-cook, I realized maybe foil isn't so bad after all.

Honestly the foil's more about keeping the juice in than keeping critters out. After my own run-in with some bold possums, I started double-wrapping just for peace of mind. Lost a good bark once, but at least I didn't lose the whole dinner.
