Paid $250 for a mold inspection I thought was a scam

I was sure those 'free' mold tests at home were fine. But after my kid's asthma got worse, I hired Atlanta Mold Guys to check vents and walls. They found hidden mold in the HVAC that I never would have seen. That $250 saved us a hospital trip for sure. Anyone else skip the cheap route and pay for real testing?

Yeah that "free test at home" stuff is junk. Had a buddy try those and they just tell you something's here but not where. For HVAC specifically you gotta have someone dig in with a borescope, that's how they find the real issues.

Lol @keith943 is right, those at-home tests are about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. My own HVAC guy had to come over with his little camera and found mold hiding behind a duct that would've fooled any kit. Guess I'll stick to paying a pro to find my problems for me.
