TIL that pressure washing my own driveway in Decatur was a bigger mistake than I thought

I figured I'd save the $300 quote, but the cheap rental unit etched the concrete and now I'm looking at a $2k repair. Has anyone else had a DIY project go this wrong?

Oh man, that hits home. I tried to sand and refinish my own hardwood floors last year to save money. Rented a big drum sander, thought it looked easy enough. Ended up gouging huge dips in the middle of the living room because I held it in one spot too long. The fix was way worse than the original problem, had to hire a pro to basically start over. Felt like such a fool.

My buddy in Austin did the same thing with his drum sander.
