Shoutout to whoever posted about preheating times being off
I saw a chart from an air fryer testing site that said most recipes lose 20% of their crisp factor if you skip the full 3 minute preheat, and now I'm checking my built-in timer with a stopwatch because mine runs fast by almost a minute.

Bet the whole crisp factor thing is just marketing hype to sell more air fryers. I've thrown frozen fries in cold and they come out just as crunchy as when I wait the full preheat.

Funny you mention that because my buddy swears by throwing bacon in cold and gets it perfect every time but I tried his method and ended up with chewy strips. Then again I've got one of those older models without the digital display so my "3 minute preheat" is just me guessing by the sound of the fan changing pitch. Really makes you wonder if the people who write these manuals even own an air fryer themselves or just make up numbers in a lab somewhere.
