Frozen fries vs fresh cut, air fryer settled it for me
After 4 bags of frozen and 3 attempts at fresh, the fresh ones crisped up way better with just a teaspoon of oil, so do you guys bother cutting your own or stick with frozen?

Frozen fries win every time for me. The convenience beats the crunch, hands down. After a ten hour day, nobody has energy to scrub and slice potatoes. Air fryer frozen ones come out fine, just shake the basket halfway. That little bit of oil trick works on frozen too, so no real difference. Fresh cut always needs extra steps, soaking, drying, watching them close. Not worth the mess. And honestly, the taste difference is tiny once you add ketchup or salt. Frozen all the way, no contest.

Man, I was the biggest frozen fry defender for years. Thought fresh cut was too much work for basically the same result, especially after a long day. But then I tried the air fryer method with just that tiny bit of oil and yeah, the texture is just on another level. The outside gets that real crunch while the inside stays fluffy, and frozen ones always end up either too dry or too limp. It takes a little extra time to slice potatoes, but honestly it's become part of my weekend routine now. You ever try soaking the cut potatoes in cold water for a bit before cooking? That step made a huge difference for me too.
