My balcony worm bin went from stinky to sweet in under a month

That's such a good point about citrus, and it really shows how a little too much of one thing can mess up a whole process. @lucas206 is totally right about the balance fixing itself once you adjust the mix. It reminds me of cooking, where adding just a bit too much of one spice can ruin a whole pot of soup. Finding that sweet spot, whether it's in a worm bin or anything else, always feels like a small victory.

Spent 8 hours trying to get a 1911 ejector to sit flush before I found the burr under the mounting pad.

Totally agree about the magnifying glass trick. Read a gunsmithing forum where a guy spent hours on a stubborn AR bolt catch. Turns out a single grain of sand from the range bag was wedged in the pin hole. He only found it under a bright desk lamp with one of those jeweler's loupes. Makes you realize how perfect everything has to fit together.

My cordless drill battery used to die after 15 minutes, but now it lasts over an hour.

Remember my buddy's snowblower that never started? He kept the battery in his unheated mudroom all winter. Switched to storing it on a shelf in his living room closet, just a normal warm spot. Next season, it cranked on the first pull. He was so shocked he almost fell over. Just that little bit of warmth saved him a ton of hassle.

Wasted $300 on a metal detector for my backyard after watching a treasure hunting show, found nothing but bottle caps and a rusty nail.

Isn't that technically illegal on public land? I've always heard you need written permission for any kind of digging, @coleman.henry. Old parks are still city property.

Heads up: My kitchen compost started reeking last week, but a scoop of used coffee grounds cleared the smell in a day.

People always mess up the coffee ratio. Two scoops per cup is the bare minimum, right? Why skimp when you want that strong morning kick? My neighbor uses one scoop and wonders why it tastes like water. Guess some folks just like weak coffee. What's the point of brewing if it's not going to wake you up?
