TIL a gas station in Tempe uses a garden hose for their tire air line
Stopped to check my pressure and the chuck was literally a cut-off hose end clamped on, no gauge at all. Who looks at that and thinks 'yeah, that'll hold 35 PSI'? What's the weirdest makeshift tool you've seen someone try to pass off as legit?

Ha, reminds me of my uncle's weird trick for fixing squeaky doors. He'd rub a bar of soap on the hinges instead of using oil. Looked nuts, but it totally worked for years. Made the whole house smell clean too. Sometimes the odd idea is the right one, you know?
