Vent: My coworker said buying a house is just like getting a car loan

He was talking about his new truck at lunch and said a mortgage is the same math, just bigger numbers. I told him he's wrong because you can't live in a truck for 30 years and build equity. What's the worst piece of bad advice you've gotten about buying a home?
