Noticed all the new bakeries are doing laminated doughs by hand.

I walked past three new spots opening this month, and each one highlights hand-laminated pastries. Talked to one owner who said customers can taste the difference in the layers. The butter distribution is way better than with machines. It's inspired me to practice my own folding technique more carefully.

My sister's new tablet stopped the morning chaos over cartoons.

My younger sister got a tablet for her birthday last month. Before that, she and our brother would fight every day about what to watch on TV. It made getting ready for school a real mess. I told her to try using the tablet for her shows instead. Now she just puts on headphones and watches quietly. That little change has made our mornings way better.

Talk about a lesson learned the HARD way. My cousin tried that "light touch" pruning last year and her rose bush looks like a SERIOUS horror movie set now.
