Vent: A client's 'dusty rose' turned into a vibrant pink in under ten minutes

I was doing a color correction in my chair yesterday, and the demi-permanent toner I mixed for her level 9 blonde went way too warm, way too fast. Has anyone else had a formula from a new line act completely different than expected? What's your go-to for correcting an overly warm pink tone without stripping?

That "way too warm, way too fast" thing is a nightmare. I've had luck with a tiny bit of a green-based ash additive mixed into a clear gloss, like a drop per ounce. It neutralizes without muddying it up. The green fights the orange warmth directly.

Wait, a DROP per OUNCE? @jade_lane you have way steadier hands than me, that's a crazy small amount. I'd be so scared to mess it up and turn everything gray. The green fighting the orange thing makes total sense though, I just never thought to use it in clear gloss. That's actually genius for keeping the color clean.
