Pro tip: don't buy a used chamber reamer without checking the specs yourself

Back when I was just starting my shop, I bought a 'like new' .308 reamer from a guy at a gun show for $120. I trusted his word and didn't have my gauges with me. Turns out it was worn out and cut a chamber so loose it ruined a customer's match barrel. Had to eat the cost of a new blank and my labor, which was about $350 all told. Anyone have a good source for checking reamer dimensions before you buy used stuff?

How bad could it really be?

Bad is a pretty wide range, idk. I've seen some things go from zero to a complete mess real fast. It's best not to test it.
