Hot take: Photo logs for every job are a game changer
I used to think notes were enough for my gunsmithing jobs. After a mix-up with a client's firearm, I began taking pictures at each step. How do you all track your work to avoid mistakes?

Total lifesaver, in my experience. My own mix-up was putting the wrong firing pin in a vintage rifle because my notes just said "replaced pin". @the_dylan, a photo would have shown the exact part I took out. Now I snap a picture before I even take the first screw out. It takes two seconds and gives you a visual map back to how it was. It stops those "wait, did that spring go left or right" moments cold.
