Pro tip: a little vinegar in your water bucket helps clear up murky glass

I was getting frustrated with my pieces looking cloudy after the initial shaping, especially with some of the soft glass I use. Someone at the studio in Asheville suggested adding a capful of white vinegar to the bucket where I dunk my blowpipe. It cuts through the residue way better than plain water. Anyone else have a simple trick for keeping your glass clearer during the early stages?

Vinegar is a solid move for soft glass. I've found a drop of dish soap in the water helps too, it breaks the surface tension. What kind of soft glass are you working with?

Never would've thought of the soap trick, honestly.
