Shoutout to the guy at the Tacoma tool swap who told me to try a 50/50 mix of denatured alcohol and shellac for a quick blush fix.

My old shop teacher in Spokane swore by that exact mix for lacquer blush. He'd keep a little spray bottle of it next to the bench during the humid summer months. Said it worked faster than just waiting for the finish to dry out on its own. I tried it once on a tabletop that got foggy and it cleared up in minutes.

Man, that reminds me of the time I tried to fix a cloudy varnish on a humid day with pure mineral spirits. Made the whole thing look like milk had spilled on it. Had to sand the entire cabinet door back to bare wood and start over. Learned my lesson about testing mixes on scrap first.
