Rant: My main client's payment system went down for a week and I almost missed rent
This happened about three weeks ago, right after I submitted a big project. Their whole invoicing portal crashed, and they said it would be fixed 'soon'. A week went by with no payment, and my rent of $1200 was due. I had to scramble, taking two small rush jobs I hated just to cover part of it. I finally got paid yesterday, but the stress was unreal. Has anyone else had a client's tech issue nearly wreck them, and what's your backup plan now?

Missing rent over one client's payment delay seems like a cash flow problem. You should have a bigger emergency fund, not just rely on the next check. Most freelancers keep a few months of expenses saved for exactly this reason.
