Vent: I used to hate bucketing roses until I saw the wilt difference

I always thought putting roses in buckets right away was a waste of time. Then last Valentine's, I left a batch out for 2 hours while prepping an arrangement and they drooped way faster than the ones I'd bucketed first. Why do people skip the hydration step when it literally saves your stems?
