Saw a florist in Charleston using plastic wrap as a water source for deliveries

They were wrapping the stems in wet paper, then plastic, saying it holds moisture for 6 hours. Has anyone else tried this method for long-distance runs?

Works for herbs, fails for real stems on a hot truck.

Wet paper and plastic, huh? That's basically how my grocery store wraps herbs.
