Serious question, why does everyone say to level the ground before pouring the slab?

I skipped leveling, just poured a thick slab on a slight slope, and my 8x10 shed sits perfectly fine 6 months later. Has anyone else gotten away with this or am I asking for trouble down the road?

What's gonna happen when the ground shifts after a heavy rain?

Man, I've been through that more times than I can count. Best thing you can do is go out and look for any low spots or cracks right after a dry spell and fill them in before the heavy rain hits. Water will find its way underground and wash out the soil underneath your foundation or driveway. If you already see cracks forming inside your house after a storm, get some gravel and pack it tight before the next one comes.
