My home inspection guy found a petrified hot dog in the crawlspace and that changed how I pack for viewings
I was checking out a cute little bungalow over on Maple Street and the inspector pulls this rock hard hot dog out from under the floorboards. It had been there so long it looked like a fossil or something. The sellers had a sense of humor about it but it got me thinking about what else could be hiding in these old houses. Now I bring a flashlight and a stick to poke around during every open house, has anyone else found something weird in a place they were buying?

My buddy Jim found a plastic skeleton from Halloween in an attic vent once. Thing looked like it had been there since the 80s, all faded and cracked. He still brings it up every time we grab a beer.

Oh man, that skeleton story is GOLD. I swear I've got a similar one about my own attic - I found a old plastic Santa that looked like it survived a war, faded to this weird pink color. It's kind of a running joke with my neighbors now, every time they see me hauling Christmas lights they ask if Santa's back from the dead. @caseyfox your buddy Jim sounds like my kind of person, those weird finds turn into the BEST stories over drinks. I bet that skeleton has more personality now than when it was new.
