Found a hidden water pipe in the backyard while digging for a garden bed
I was digging up a spot for a small raised bed behind my new house in Portland last Saturday and my shovel hit something hard that made a metallic clang. Turns out it was an old galvanized water line from the 1950s that the seller never mentioned in the disclosure, and I had to call a plumber to cap it off before I could keep planting. Has anyone else run into surprise underground stuff after closing on a house?

Wait, the seller just didn't mention a whole water pipe in the ground? That's insane to me. I'd be furious about the extra plumber bill.

Ugh same here! Seller hid a broken sewer line. Total nightmare.
