Wasted $80 on a fancy fermentation crock that cracked on day 3
Bought a glazed stoneware crock from an Etsy shop called Farmhouse Kitchen last week. Filled it with 5 pounds of cabbage and salt, and by morning there was a hairline crack leaking brine all over my counter. Has anyone else had luck with plain old glass jars instead of these expensive crocks?

Ugh that's so frustrating. I had the same thing happen with a different brand last year, ended up switching to big pickle jars from the grocery store and they work fine.

Honestly, pickle jars are the real MVPs of the kitchen. Ngl I've definitely sat there trying to open a fancy container for five minutes before giving up and asking a pickle jar for help, like it's my therapist.
