TIL my box cutter blade was in backwards for 6 months
Came home from a trip to the hardware store last week and grabbed my utility knife to open a box of tile. Spent 5 minutes frustrated it wouldn't cut through tape. Then I looked closer and realized I had the blade flipped around reversed. Have you ever done something dumb like that with a simple tool?

...and the worst part is you probably cursed out the blade or the tape for not working right before you figured it out. I've done similar stuff, like trying to screw something in with a Phillips head bit in a flathead screw... stripped the whole thing before I realized my mistake. It's funny how your brain just assumes the tool is correct and works against you.

Ha, yeah that screw bit thing is painfully familiar. Did you ever manage to get the stripped screw out without having to drill it? I feel like that's the real test of patience. @wren_jackson you've got me wondering how many dumb mistakes we all just accept as "learning experiences" haha.
