Had to pick between a cheap shop vac and a name brand one... glad I went with the off brand
My old vacuum died last month so I was looking at a $80 Rigid at Home Depot versus a $30 generic one off Amazon. I went with the cheap one and honestly it's been fine for sawdust and wet spills around my garage in Austin. The hose is a little flimsy but for 50 bucks less I can't complain. Anyone else try the no-name tools and have them work out?

Did you get the one with the blue and orange branding that looks like a knockoff of a certain big box store's house brand? I bought a similar one for my garage in Houston and the filter fell off after three uses, but duct tape fixed it right up. Guess you get what you pay for... or in this case, what you don't pay for.

Wow, I don't know, you're making it sound like a total disaster but it's just a cheap garage fan right? Duct tape is basically a permanent fix for anything under $50 so I'd say you came out ahead. I've had similar stuff from that brand and yeah the clips are flimsy but it still blows air. Honestly for the price I'm not expecting it to survive a hurricane or anything.
