Finally figured out how to keep my drill bits from wandering on metal

I used to just push hard and hope for the best, but after ruining a piece of sheet metal last month, I started using a center punch first. Anyone have a different trick for keeping starter holes accurate?

My buddy swears by a drop of oil on the punch mark, ever try that?

You mean like gun oil? I always thought that was a waste until @phoenix_schmidt's buddy's method actually worked for me. I put a tiny drop of 3-in-1 on a stuck center punch and it tapped right out after sitting for an hour.
