Wasted $400 on a fancy new cutterhead because I thought it'd save me time on a sandy job in Mobile.

The old one was fine, just needed a resharp. Any of you guys ever fall for the 'new tech' hype and regret it later?

Man thats rough. But honestly $400 sounds pretty steep even for a fancy cutterhead. I think you might have overpaid by a bit unless it was some top of the line brand. The sandy jobs down in Mobile are brutal on equipment no matter how new the tech is. A resharpened old head would have probably done just as good for half that price. Live and learn I guess.

Hold on, is spending $400 on a cutterhead really that big of a deal? I mean yeah it stings but you're acting like it set your whole business back a month. @williamd70 is right about the Mobile sand chewing stuff up, but that just means the old head would have gotten wrecked anyway. People get way too hung up on every little mistake like it's the end of the world. Just run the new one until it's dead and move on.
