A simple thing I heard at the supply counter changed how I check my drawings

I was waiting in line at the local supply house yesterday and the guy ahead of me was picking up a big order. He told the clerk, 'I almost missed a 0.125 dimension on the flange, my eyes just skipped right over it.' That stuck with me. I realized I always just scan my own prints for the big numbers. So today, I started reading every single dimension out loud before I send a drawing out. It feels silly, but it caught two tiny errors on a bracket drawing I was doing. Has anyone else found a simple trick like that to help with the final check?

Reading them out loud actually works, huh?

Oh man, it totally does. Caught myself reading a grocery list to the dog yesterday (he was not impressed). My brain just skips stuff when it's quiet, but saying it out loud makes the mistakes super obvious.
