Tried those cheap dollar store tortillas and they turned into frisbees
Last Tuesday I picked up a pack of the El Milagro tortillas from the 99 Cents Only store near my place in Phoenix. They were only 99 cents for a 12 pack, but when I heated them up for tacos, they cracked into three pieces each and my whole dinner fell apart on the plate. Has anyone found a trick to make these things actually fold without breaking?

Steam them in a damp paper towel for 20 seconds, that softens them right up.

Have you tried frying them in a little oil instead of just heating them up dry? In my experience with cheap tortillas, a quick shallow fry - like 30 seconds per side in a hot pan with some oil - makes them flexible and actually tastes way better. The oil keeps the steam inside and stops them from drying out and cracking. Your mileage may vary, but I've saved a few packs of dud tortillas that way.
