Spice rack from scrap wood cleared my cluttered counter
Used leftover plywood to mount spices on the wall, making everything within reach.

That plywood rack looks solid. How did you mount it to the wall so it holds all that weight? I'd worry about the screws pulling out if the wood is thin. Did you use anchors or just hit the studs directly? My last attempt at a shelf like that ended up a bit wobbly.

Hey @janag24, that's a smart thing to worry about with all that weight. You gotta hit the studs directly with long screws, like 3 inches or more, no drywall anchors for this kind of load. If the plywood is thin, add a backer board behind it to spread out the force. I've seen shelves fail when people skip that step. Make sure your screws are going straight into the center of the studs, not at an angle. That rack will stay solid if you take the time to find every stud along the wall.

Ugh, I feel you on the wobbly shelf thing. My first spice rack nearly took out a whole cabinet when it fell.
