My crack filler turned into a gooey mess after one hot afternoon

I sealed a big 12-foot crack on my driveway last Tuesday using a cheap rubberized filler from the hardware store. By Saturday afternoon, with temps hitting 95 degrees, the stuff had softened and bubbled up like pancake batter. I stepped on it walking to my car and my shoe left a sticky footprint that I had to scrape off with a putty knife. Turns out that filler is rated for lighter traffic, not direct sun on blacktop all day. I should have gone with a polymer-modified product or waited for cooler weather to apply. Has anyone else had their sealant turn to goo and what brand actually holds up in summer heat?

The 95 degree heat is on the product label, not the driveway, so maybe check that first.
