Learned the hard way that cold tar crack filler is a scam in winter

I spent $45 on a tub of that cold applied tar crack filler last November here in Buffalo. Step by step, I cleaned out the cracks, heated the tube in warm water like the instructions said, and applied it on a 45 degree day. It looked fine for about a week, then we got a freeze and the stuff just popped right out of every crack. Has anyone had luck with a specific hot pour crack filler that actually stays in place through a real winter?

Yo I literally did the exact same thing here in Rochester just last month. Now my driveway looks like it has the world's saddest game of hopscotch going on.
