Changed my mind about using dish soap on my bike chain
I kept seeing people online say any dish soap works fine, but after my chain got super rusty in just two weeks here in Seattle, I looked it up and found it strips all the factory lube and lets water in. What do you guys use to clean chains that won't ruin them?

Honestly, I've used Dawn on my chain for years with zero rust issues. The trick is you have to dry it completely and re-lube it right away. If you just wash it and leave it wet, of course it's going to rust. That's not the soap's fault, that's just leaving bare metal out in Seattle weather. A proper clean and re-lube cycle works fine.
