Update: nobody told me you can slow travel on a $28 bus in Guatemala and skip the airport mess
I took the chicken bus from Antigua to Lake Atitlan for 30 quetzales and the locals thought my laptop bag was a pillow, which is fair. I still book flights like a tourist though, how do you all decide when a slow route is worth the extra day?
