Picked a coworking space in Chiang Mai over a coffee shop setup, and my productivity tanked for a week straight
Honestly, I went with the communal desk for 150 bucks a month thinking it would be quieter than the noisy cafe near Nimman, but turns out the fast wifi and free coffee weren't worth the constant small talk and people asking to share my outlet, has anyone else regretted a paid spot over just buying a cheap iced latte?

Constantly small talk and people asking to share my outlet" - man, that's rough but is it really that deep? You probably just hit a bad week. I've done the coworking thing a few times and yeah some days you get the chatty guy who won't take a hint, but other days it's totally fine. Seems like you're making a whole life decision out of one frustrating week. Maybe give it another shot before declaring the whole thing a waste.

@lee.casey you're right that one bad week doesn't tell the whole story but honestly this is just how coworking spaces are now. The whole culture shifted post-pandemic and everyone's in this weird limbo where they want community but also don't want to be bothered. It's like when you're at the grocery store and someone stands way too close in line - people forgot basic etiquette somewhere along the way.
