Appreciation post: That one week where every truck had the same weird injector knock

Last month, we had three different Freightliners in the shop with that same hollow knock at idle, all from the same fleet. One guy swears it's just a bad batch of fuel, but I'm leaning toward a sensor issue on that specific engine run. Anyone else see a weird pattern like that recently?

Nah, that's way too specific for bad fuel. If it was the fuel, you'd see it across all their trucks, not just three from the same engine run. That knock pattern points straight to a manufacturing flaw, like a bad run of injector solenoids or a wiring harness defect.

Remember that recall on the 2022 F-250s for the PCM software glitch? @sarahjenkins might be onto something with the wiring harness, but what if it's a bad batch of sensor chips from the same supplier? Those three trucks could have gotten faulty knock sensors that send wrong data to the computer.
