Wasted $400 on a glitchy anti-two block system last month

I tried one of those newer wireless anti-two block setups from an online dealer. It seemed like a good deal compared to the OEM stuff, but it failed after three days of light use on a 50-ton Grove. The alarm kept going off for no reason, and I nearly had a bad situation because I started tuning it out. My local crane shop told me they've seen half a dozen of these returned already. Has anyone else had luck with a budget sensor, or is it always worth paying for the factory kit?

That's the classic "saved a buck, lost a grand" special right there... those budget sensors are basically just fancy blinking lights in my experience. Had a buddy try a similar one on his Terex and the thing beeped every time a bird flew within fifty feet of the boom. Honestly, if the crane shop is already seeing returns on them, you're probably better off just burning the cash for warmth.

Stick to OEM sensors. Cheap ones aren't worth the risk on a 50-ton.
