inCowhide vs. book cloth on a restoration job - huge mistake
Is it just me or does this kind of thing happen in a lot of projects where people pick the wrong material because it looks tough? I see it all the time with folks trying to patch up old wooden windows with modern caulk instead of oil-based putty. The modern stuff just doesn't flex right and it cracks after a season. Leather and cloth have totally different jobs to do, and you gotta match the flexibility to what the old book or even an old house needs.

inJust realized Python's enumerate() saves me from writing ugly counter variables
zip() was that function for me. I spent way too long manually pairing up lists with indexes before someone showed me how to just zip them together. It makes working with multiple lists feel a lot cleaner.

inHad to fix a drawer front that was out by a quarter inch on a maple vanity.
Nah, that's actually a solid fix lol. Sometimes the perfect solution is just the quick one that works.

inI used to trim brisket fat down to a quarter inch, now I leave a full half inch.
Oh man, @miaa41, that totally reminds me of my friend's dad. He used to trim all the fat off his ribs, said it was "healthier." Then he went to a cook-off and saw everyone leaving a good fat layer. He tried it, and his next rack was way more juicy and had that sticky bark he could never get before. He felt so silly for all those years of dry ribs.

inDark roast from my kitchen ended my morning stomach pain
I had Counter Culture's light roast last week with zero stomach problems. Maybe it's less about the roast and more about how specific beans interact with your gut. Sounds like your solution might not be a universal fix.
