The day a salon client brought in her own 'special scissors'
I had a client come in last Tuesday with her own pair of scissors she wanted me to use on her hair. She pulled them out of her purse wrapped in a paper towel, said they were 'energy charged' from a crystal healer she saw over the weekend. I tried to politely explain that my professional shears are way sharper and cleaner, but she insisted. So I gave it a shot, and those things tugged and pulled through her ends like a butter knife through rubber. Left her with a jagged mess I had to fix with my own tools after she finally agreed. Has anyone else dealt with clients bringing in random tools from home?

Is it really that serious though? It's just scissors.

Oh just scissors" I say, as I hand my husband a pair of kitchen shears covered in three layers of mystery gunk and tell him these are the good ones. My entire life is a test of how serious scissors can be, between trying to open those impossible plastic clamshell packages and the daily struggle of cutting through a pizza without sending it flying across the room. I've got a pair of scissors in every drawer of my house and somehow none of them can cut a straight line. Honestly, "just scissors" is like saying "just a car" until your alternator dies on the highway in August.
