Update: Tried a new way to handle a hot pour on a driveway in Phoenix last week

It was 105 degrees and the mix was setting up way too fast, so I sprayed a super fine mist of water from a garden hose with a fan nozzle over the slab before the final trowel pass. That bought me just enough time to get a slick finish without burning it. What's your go-to trick for fighting the heat on a job?

Ever try that and just end up making a slip-n-slide for yourself? My finish looked like a topographical map.

Honestly that reminds me of the time I tried to wax my own car. I was so sure I could get that showroom shine. Ended up with these crazy swirls and streaks that looked like a bad art project. Took me three more tries and a whole new bottle of spray to fix it. Never doing that again without a pro buffer.
