Heard a guy at the hardware store say he uses dish soap in his finishing water

He was buying a jug of the cheap stuff and told his buddy it helps the trowel glide without sticking. I tried it on a small garage floor job, and it did cut down on the drag a bit. Anyone else use this trick or think it messes with the cure?

Cut down on the drag" is the whole point, but I wonder if that slickness messes with the final bond. Soap leaves a film, and that might keep the concrete from sealing up right on top. I'd stick to a proper admixture for anything that needs to last.

clairebaker's point about the film totally changed my old view.
