Isn't most of the plastic waste from the packaging, not the tool? Sharing helps, but broken washers still end up in the dump.

You're right about broken washers in the dump, but that misses the bigger picture. If ten neighbors share one power washer, that's nine fewer boxes, plastic clamshells, and foam inserts in the trash right away. Even if it breaks in five years, we've already cut tons of packaging waste. The tool itself is a small chunk of plastic compared to all that single-use stuffing it comes in. Sharing massively slows down how fast we make and buy new stuff, which is where the real waste happens.
