Shoutout to the guy who told me my checkout system was stupid

Had a member last month complain that returning tools took too long. I was like it's fine, been doing it this way for years. He pointed out I was making people fill out a paper log for each tool back in. Changed it to a simple scan in system with a QR code. Took me an afternoon to set up and now returns take like 30 seconds instead of 5 minutes. Anybody else had to overhaul their whole process because one person called them out?

Man that's always how it goes, one random person points out something and suddenly your whole system feels like it was built in the stone age.

Wait, did you keep the old paper logs somewhere as a backup? I still have mine in a filing cabinet, and I swear the ink on some of them is so faded you can't even read what tools were returned.
