Our library in Tacoma started a simple tool sharpening day and it's a game changer
We had a lot of dull saw blades and chisels coming back, and people were hesitant to use them. So last month, we set up a volunteer-run sharpening station on the first Saturday. We sharpened over 40 tools that day for just a small fee. Has anyone else found a good way to handle basic tool maintenance?

How do you handle the liability side of things with sharpening? We looked into this at our community shop but got stuck on insurance questions. Maybe a waiver form could work. That small fee is smart to cover basic supplies without making it a barrier. Really cool idea to see a library step into hands-on skills like that.

Waivers are a must. Our library's legal team wrote one that covers injury and damaged property. Insurance added a small rider for tool-based programs. Keep the fee under five bucks so it's still accessible.
