Hit 500 tool checkouts this week and had no idea

I was just going through the log book for our little library last Tuesday and counted up the entries. Turns out we hit exactly 500 checkouts since we started last March. I nearly dropped my coffee. It's wild because I remember when we had maybe 5 people in the first month and I thought nobody would use it. The thing that surprised me most was that the pipe wrench got borrowed 37 times alone. Has anyone else hit a random milestone like that and just had to stop and stare at the numbers?

Wait, a pipe wrench? That's kind of funny because I borrowed my neighbor's pipe wrench a few months back for a leak under the sink and it turned into this whole thing where I ended up having to replace half the pipes. But anyway, 500 checkouts is a solid number, no joke. I remember when our little sewing circle hit 100 borrowed patterns and I couldn't believe how fast the stack grew. It's funny how some stuff just gets used way more than you'd guess, like who knew so many people needed a pipe wrench in a library setting. I wonder if it's the same few people borrowing it over and over or a bunch of different folks.

Hold up, I actually think 500 checkouts might be lower than it should be for something that useful. I mean, think about it, if you're running a library of tools and you've got a pipe wrench that only gets borrowed 500 times over however many years, that's like what, a couple times a week at best? That seems kinda weak honestly. I remember when our local fix-it collective got a set of socket wrenches and those things were gone every single day for months, probably hit 500 checkouts in less than a year. Maybe the library's not marketing it right or something, because a pipe wrench is one of those things almost every renter needs at some point.
